Kyusa, I like Subway and eat there occasionally. The only thing I wory about is that they are EVERYWHERE! Just about all the Pilot Truck Stops I frequent have Subways (I'm glad I'm home every day; truck stops are going more into fast food every day. It's getting hard to find good food near truck parking) As far as buying a franchise, I'd sure check into whether there was any "protected territory" when I bought a franchise. If you're in a rural area, you might fare pretty well with it In the suburbs and urban areas, I'm not so sure... Just my 2 cents worth.

Yea, I think you may have missed the bandwagon as far as Subway. They're very established and a franchise now would probably be very expensive. I'm not a fan of their food. I really despise the bread; prefering a chewy bread. However, they are really popular and the Jared ad campaign was the best thing that happened to them.

Unless you have a special advantage with location, labor, financing, or something else, most franchise opportunities are just a chance to buy a job.

My husband and I like Subway. The food is pretty good (I like the meatball sandwiches and the chocolate chip cookies), and every Subway I've been to was clean except for one in a WalMart. They do seem to be everywhere.

I really only eat Subway when I have to, which is a lot though because they are the only places along the highway systems now. Except for McDonald's, but how many times can you eat there?

I have a feeling they will be cutting back much like Starbucks had to.
I see a Subway on nearly every street corner or in seemingly every strip center these days.
Quick thought tells me there was about a half-dozen Subways within a 2-3 mile radius of where I last lived.
Probably about the same oversaturation where I live now.

I live in a fairly rural area and there are two Subway stores within 3 miles of me, within 5 miles there are three stores. I don't know how well they do being so close to each other. Even though they seem to have quite a few cars in their lots many times when I drive by, I may just be going past during their peak times and they may be slow for the rest of the day.

I've never been crazy about Subway. I find their food is just okay, nothing great. Subway has the most shops around here, but they are a definite third when it comes to sandwich quality here in RI, behind Jersey Mikes and DeAngelos.
