Does anyone know?
Hi friends,
I an employer and I just want to verify an employee's birth information. I’m looking for actual birth certificates of each and every employee. So is there anybody who can help me? Any idea will be highly appreciated!

Never heard of an employer wanting a birth certificate. Why would you want birth information? Only thing I can think of is to insure the person is over 18???

Are you telling the employees about this? You can order a BC through the county they were born in. Prolly run you 40 bucks tops... just tell the employee you'll pay for it, and then order it with them...
It's not an easily forged document, although it's far from impossible in this day and age. I'm assuming you've also asked for the birth certs from your employees?
Personally I think the very easiest would be to require livescans through the DOJ (dept of justice). They cost around $15-$30 to have run, and you'll get a full felony background check. I have to assume the DOB would be confirmed as well in this situation. However, I've only been on the side of doing the livescan, never receiving it, so I don't know if you need to get set up through the DOJ in order to receive them.

Just check their drivers licenses; I believe all states check birth certificates before issuing drivers licenses (or state IDs).

This is a very strange request. Why do you need to verify?

The only reason that I can see is if you are hiring someone to serve alcohol and they have to be of a certain age. Or if you think they are too young to work at all.
Other than those two things, if you refuse to hire, or if you fire someone because they are a different age than you want, you are in danger of someone filing a suit for age discrimination.
Age is one of those things that are not (except in the case of being underage) any of an employer's concern.

I would recommend a background check or verify passport/ssn card. Padgett2 is correct. You may want to check dol(department of labor) you could run into age discrimination problems.

Birth certificates are easily forged particularly if that person was born in another country or a remote region in the USA.
