Last summer, Mel Karmazin was rattling off his trademark one-liners to talk up the future of Sirius XM Radio, the combined company he ran that had just been blessed by regulators.

D&B in their marketing scheme has ruined any creditable they might have had.
I needed a "business name" to purchase some servers from a major vendor, primarily because they were cheaper if you were a small business than just a consumer. So I thought up a name and typed it in, paid for my servers, and they were shipped to me.
This fictitious business has never existed except for the purpose of using the name to buy some PC's, but I have an excellent rating from D&B, and receive ridiculous business lines of credit as a result.
Sorry, a D&B rating is completely bogus, and proof it is just marketing.

I have tried being nice and I have tried being rude and yet they still call. Now they call and leave voicemail messages, prefacing them with my first name like we are old friends, then try to put some scare in like there has been a significant change to my rating or that there have been some questionable inquiries to my account. I always write back in and tell them to put it in writing, but it never happens. When they do catch me unaware and I answer the phone, the start the hard sell again. Their service does absolutely nothing for my business and I do not want anything to do with them. Does anyone know how to make them go away???

Sorry for the slow response.
I do a count-down for fun.
I say "Count With Me!"
(They blab and try to run on with the pitch)
"5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1! Buh Bye!"
Click, Hang up!
Seems to work for me -- usually for about a year or so. Then repeat.

D&B is reporting false information on my business which is at the moment hurting our chance to lease equipt, of course they want us to join and pay to see the false infomation. HMMM that kind of seems like blackmail "pay our fee or we will say bad things about you" LOL Anyway most of the people I have talked to said the same thing about D&B posting false information but they didn't put it together about it being a marketing scam to get them to join. So have you been denied credit due to false information by D&B?

D & B - A scam of a company
Yes, D&B is reporting a low score for our company. And, they have incorrect information about our address, correct name, etc. They, of course, won't correct anything unless we "subscribe" at a fee of $449. What a rip-off!!! How do we stop this company from controlling small businesses?

D&B has sent me several bills for the aformentioned $449. It would be OK but I did not order or use this service. I returned the bills with "Please cancel" written on them. After the third or fourth time I finally called them and asked them waht was going on and why did they keep sending these bills, that I had canceled etc. They said that the only way to cancel is to follow some procedure supposedly explained on the bill and that now it was too late to do this. Now it's in collections and I'm trying to find a way to make the whole thing go away. Any ideas anyone? I hate to see them get away with this.

Dunn and Bradstreet
Seriously, are there any lawyers out there that could help us small businessmen combat the practices of this company? How about a class action suit?
