Yes - the reason she makes so much money is the old way everyone THOUGHT people would make money on the web. Ads. So, she has a few ads on her webpage, and the number of hits she has on her webpage determine how much money she gets from those ads.

Her webpage is a big deal because teens/tweens and other people who care about MySpace love her designs and want them to use as backgrounds for their webpages. So they are busy clicking multiple times.

The young lady is now expanding (to keep her product fresh and hot) and is starting a sort of internet magazine.

Yes, she's legitimately a millionaire, and she did it by borrowing $8 from her mom to register the domain name, and then setting up her website.

A very smart young lady, who will no doubt continue in her successful entrepreneurial career.

For those that question just how she did it, there is another website you might wanna check out. Although this isn't her website, what she has done and just HOW she did it is summarized by this other chick and her website at Writing, Motivation, Business Coaching, Design - Center of Muse — Helping Freelancers, Entrepreneurs Start-Up Small, Home, Businesses Based on Passion. (broken link) if you're really curious and interested. She's summed it up nicely. It's the first thing you see on her site.

You'd think if she's been at it for how many years, she'd have her website finished.

http://whateverlife.com/brb.php (broken link)

Furthermore, if you go back several months, her website doesnt have the "ads" that they believe she made all that "money" off of..

December 30th, 2004 website went live with popups.. temporary page. WhateverLife.com (formerly: pinkie.nu) Whichever Life you Lead...

November 24th, 2005, she complets her first myspace webpage.
WhateverLife.com [anything, everything: anytime]

January 4th of this year, image of the website.. Whateverlife.com Looks like a 10 year old made it, and even has errors on the front page.

Looks like she's been changing her own website every few days. Whateverlife.com [anything, everything: ANYTIME] Myspace layouts, hot layouts, cute layouts, free layouts, free graphics, cute graphics, tutorials, web tutorials, myspace. for all of the pages. * next to a date, means she changed the website.

The average user stays on her website for 4.8 pages, average week she has 6332 people view her website. Thats 30,393.60 pages per week, or 121574.40 pages per month.

Given that the average advertisement pays less then $.01 a page, thats $1215.74 profit for last month. Far from a $1,000,000 needed. (lets not even consider the fact that her traffic is much higher in the last few days due to news stories)

Even further, if she's making all of her money from her "myspace pages".. Why has she removed them? Whateverlife.com [anything, everything: ANYTIME]Hot layouts, cute layouts, free layouts, free graphics, cute graphics, tutorials, web tutorials. (broken link) then click myspace link.. it goes to a "google" page.. not the advertiser from the story.

Not saying she's not a millionaire, but it cant be from this website alone. She has yet another site I found.. ShopWhateverlife.com (broken link).. Found another.. whateverlife magazine LLC, WhateverLifeInc companies also.

Also, if she dropped out of high school, why is she currently in Henry Ford Community College? Dont you need to graduate to attend college?

edited to add, if she made all her money from "myspace".. why is her myspace page generic.. Wouldnt you think she'd be "touting" all her talents by displaying them.. MySpace.com - AshBo - 17 - Female - Southgate, Michigan - www.myspace.com/ashbo

She dropped out of high school, then got her GED. That's all she needs to enroll in community college.

This is the info that was written in the article that I posted a link to:

According to Google Analytics, Whateverlife attracts more than 7 million individuals and 60 million page views a month. That's a larger audience than the circulations of Seventeen, Teen Vogue, and CosmoGirl! magazines combined. Although Web-site rankings vary with the methodology, Quantcast, a popular source among advertisers, ranked Whateverlife.com a staggering No. 349 in mid-July out of more than 20 million sites. Among the sites in its rearview mirror: Britannica.com, AmericanIdol.com, FDA .gov, and CBS.com.

Yes but the news story states

Makes me wonder
1) Did they tell the reporter she's in college? or hold this information back to give the wrong impression on purpose?
2) Did the "big dream" not come true already and she had to enter college?
3) Did the reporter, leave that out on purpose to give the wrong impression?
4) If she's a "millionaire".. why "community college".. (not that any thing is wrong with it).. I just dont know to many millionaires willing to accept.. community college.

1. It's close to her home
2. She's going part-time
3. Flexible scheduling

She's not worried about the brand name of the school that she goes to. She's worried about the brand name of her business.

Yes I seen that, so lets compare the states.
First, the stats appear incorrect... Traffic Details for: whateverlife.com/ is the website traffic for whateverlife.com. Most likely the "teen" is sharing a "google" account with multiple websites, or manipulating data by sharing a server, i.e. IP address with all of those other "phantom" websites. No way she's getting 60 million pages views a month on just whateverlife.com.

Second, whiles its true that her whateverlie.com is generating more traffic then those websites, lets just look at cosmo girl magazine cosmopolitan fashion at comsmogirl.com (broken link) wow, amazing that sight isnt #1 site used world wide isnt it?

Britannica.com does twice the number of pageviews, AmericanIdol.com crushes the website during peak traffic, how many people have actually used FDA.gov, and yet their traffic ranks higher, and cbs.com does 3 times the amount of hits.

Per the statistics, 99% of the people leave whateverlife.com, and go nowhere.. meaning they arent clicking google ads.. 1% of the traffic go to sitebuilder.whateverlife.com, a page thats not even completed yet.. (currently in beta, meaning its BRAND NEW)

Further statistics show that whateverlife.com only has 101 other web pages linking to whateverlife.com, meaning that the 60,000 "webpages" using her program dont exist, because each one would show a link to "whateverlife.com"...

Again, I'm not stating she's not a millionaire, just that its impossible for her to be getting it from this one website alone. The traffic statistics just dont show the kind of traffic needed to generate $1,000,000 profit in less then a year since advertising has been added, (let alone the three years she's had it live)
