Default Raising capital for expansions

Hello, hoping someone out there can offer some ideas on raising capital. My business has been around for 4 years, its steady, stable, profitable. I've been thinking lately of making that "next" step, taking it to the next level. raising capital to compete with the big boys.

Any suggestions how where to go to raise capital without giving up a huge amount of equity? Ultimate goal is to go public or sell it off eventually.

I'm thinking $250K, but I have to sit down and look at needs and ultimate goals, then establish a business plan before beginning. I could easily liquidate inventory to raise needed funds, but I'd feel like I'd be running a going out of business sale.

I'm just looking at some of my competitors that are doing 1,000 times more sales then me.. and are worth Billions..

The traditional sources are debt financing and equity financing. If you are not prepared to give up equity then the next logical choice is a loan. Have you talked to your bank?

J Woo is on a distinguished road
As Jinxor said, debt financing and equity financing are main source of funds.

Equity - another shareholders, angel or venture capital
Debts - common one are banker loan, but the other source like borrowing from relatives/family members (of course with agreed schedule payback and returns) are also workable.

Hope this help.
