The industrious folks who man New York's Christmas tree strands are a hearty if sometimes bedraggled bunch, huddling under plywood huts, sleeping in campers, relying on public bathrooms.

Well if it was a success, according to Obama and Liz Warren,... remember you didn't build that.

Can't blame me. I see no reason cutting down a perfectly good tree.

One couple used to drive from Alaska to NYC just to sell trees. I have never bought one of those trees, but how much does each go for? Is there a real high demand for an authentic tree. I just use the plastic ones. And dont those same trees grow in like NJ, or Upper Westchester somewhere cheaper to transport?

Same here, I can cut one from my own yard if I want to, but more people are just using the fake ones.
The Christmas tree lots in our area are about half the number of 20 years ago though sales figures show that the real trees outnumber fake 3-1. Almost all of the fake trees are made in China.
