I've seen a couple websites (like bag borrow and steal) that rent out designer handbags and they seem to be profitable businesses so I am just wanting to get some feedback on if this same concept would work with designer luggage. No I would not.

OP, I'm not sure renting luggage would be a good idea. How much do you know about designer items. Can you authenticate them to make sure they are authentic?

Not sure if it would work, but I've seen some crazy ideas.

I remember when having fancy rims on cars were a trendy thing ,and people were renting rims!...

That's a bit different though. Also I could definitely see the handbag rental working.

I would also be worried about damage. I don't have fancy luggage, but I know it gets significantly damaged and I don't travel too often .

what oregonwoodsmoke said.
I actually have friends who work as airline baggage handlers. They said that they throw those fancy TUMI or Louie Vitton luggages much higher and harder to see if they're worth the money!
