Sears is one of those companies that leaves me scratching my head, trying to understand their business strategy. The whole idea to merge the two companies seemed like a good one, but that simply isnt enough to turn the company around..

I am not surprised. We NEVER shop there anymore. It is nothing more than a KMART in a mall.

Is this surprising? Never once have I gotten anyone to help me in the electronics section of Kmart without waiting around for about 10 minutes (I was there for clearance specials on several days in a row. I would NEVER shop there for normal everyday items do to service problems).

Horrible stores, horrible service, please die quickly.

For those that haven't been to a Kmart. Go there. It is a shopping experience like no other.

99%...wow! I don't like Sears either, it really does seem more like a KMart than a department store. For the record I don't like KMart either; it is like WalMart's lower class cousin, dirty and poorly lit.

No surprise to anyone who shops.

They sell the same stuff everyone else does, just at higher prices and without any enthusiasm.

It is sad to see a once mighty tower of retailing reduced to mismatched toothpicks.

No surprise to me, and I'll be somewhat surprised if they are still in operation 10 years from now.

When you see their stores, they are usually pretty empty. From a personal point of view, I have found their service to be awful, and that used to be their strength. It happened to us twice, on two separate appliance purchases a little over a year apart. Both times, they failed to deliver to the house as promised, and both times our order was "lost in the computer" due to programming updates.

Certainly not the institution they were 30 years ago, and their sales reflect this.

I must be lucky, mine is pretty good, and I always get electronics there for the service agreements which have always served me wonderfully.

Oh well.

I bought a freezer at Sears last year after shopping around at several different places. It was actually a really good experience and I'd buy from there again. The Kmart that used to be near us though was a creepy, dark, and dirty store. It was replaced by a Kohls. Not sure on the logic there.

Man, reading all of this Sears bashing... I'm confused! I've never had a bad experience with Sears. KMart is a crappy place, but I never thought of Sears that way..

Let's see.. I've purchased a car seat for my car and my mother's car - one that is usually around $200 for about $65/each on sale.

I'm going to Sears for my mom's christmas gift - wrenches.
