How do you turn ideas for existing product to Money? (credit, attorney)

Every once in awhile I come up with idea on how to improve a product already on the market but I dont know what I need to do with that idea.

I am concern about turning my idea over to the company and then not hear from them then realize later they are using the idea with no credit to me.
What steps do I need to do so we both come out winners?

I love watching Donny Deutch and seeing people he interviews who are now successful.

You need to do a patent search, to make sure no one has already advanced on an idea. If no one has, take steps to patent it yourself, before approaching any companies for manufacturing a product/improved product. You should find a patent/trademark attorney to help you research and implement a patent. Good Luck!
