Don't forget to sit down with a qualifed attorney who knows about business liability and animal regulations. Have the attorney spell out all the pitfalls related to possible issues such as if a dog bolts and runs away. What happens if a dog dies while under your control? Make sure you follow their advice about the levels of insurance recommended. It's always nice to see the business unfolding in front of you, but take a moment to think about the dark side of a business.

This is a real concern. My own pet sitter said she's shown up to a dead cat on two separate occasions. Accidents happen, animals get stressed and become even more vulnerable.
