I'd like to hear about any experiences with your business health plans.
How many employees do you have and what type of health coverage do you provide?
Do you use the SHOP market or go through a broker? Or have you cut your health benefit and your employees now purchase it on the open marketplace?
Are you still in a transitional/grandfathered non-ACA plan or have you converted to a metallic ACA plan?
Do you provide both PPO and HMO options?
What percentage/dollar amount of employee cost do you pay?
Have you set up HSA or HRA accounts and how are you funding/managing these?
Do you provide dental coverage?
I currently offer a very good "Transitional" health plan to employees (A Gold level PPO and HMO plan from a major provider - largest networks) and IMO offer generous employer contribution. I basically pay nearly 100% of employee-only HMO plan, but also offer additional flat dollar amount for some dependent coverage. We offer several HMO and PPO choices in our plan. Obviously, I'm concerned about costs and am strategizing for our upcoming open enrollment period. Employees are very happy with their current plans, so change may be a bumpy road.
