my friend wants to name our service "GT Cleaning service" I'm not so sure about this idea... Different businesses need to have names that really speak to what they deliver....
We are offering this service in the mountains of colorado , so I was thinking a name related to hills, mountains but not necessarily it was just an idea....Here some info about the service
-We use green products (environmentally friendly products)
-We arent super expensive but not the cheapest service either
-We are fast and good at what we do.
Conventional wisdom is never to name something GT Auto, GT cleaning, etc. People don't remember 2 letters like that like they remember a name. Someone will remember rocky mountain cleaners, they wont' remember BMJ cleaners.
Also for the sake of being in the phone book some people like being something starting with an A, B, C. For SEO people like to have keywords for search engine relevance, something like allergen free cleaners or enviromentally friendly cleaners, as people who are searching for those things will come up.
People will work on their pro formas for months, yet won't spend 30 seconds thinking about their name. But a name is what defines a company in the marketplace and it better damned well be memorable.
At the very least, given your service attributes, you should express some kind of benefit.
