Have you ever run a business? You're ignoring the fees associated with using cash (like cash deposit fees). You also don't take into consideration the additional manpower (cost to the business) to count and sort cash, transport cash to banks, and manually enter data into accounting systems (if there's discrepancies and every time there's bank transactions).

That being said, it's up to the business to decide how it should be run. If a business wants to provide great customer service and convenience to their customers at a little expense, then they should do it. T the beauty of the freemkt.

Huh? Are you complaining about this as a consumer or as a business owner? If you're complaining as a consumer, then it's silly because the business pays for the merchant services processing, not the consumer. Sure they may increase prices a tad to cover the costs, but you pay the same price whether cash or credit. If you're complaining as a business owner then that's equally as silly because no one is forcing businesses to do business this way (although it's been proven that people spend more when paying with plastic, so every savvy business owner should accept card payments).

I'd much prefer to buy from a place that only accepts cards over a place that only accepts cash.

There's a price to pay for convenience. Get yourself a 2% cash back card and you won't have to worry about that anyway.

I couldn't agree more. It's common sense.

Like I said place else - world WILL be cashless and digital. Elite wants it that way as it's great control over humanity. besides that CC offer, there is ongoing process of extracting actual cash out of circulation. GB is liquidating certain bank notes and EU is liquidating 100 e bills I believe.
They will FORCE you to go cashless.

Not all digital currencies equate to more control...

Default Electrons for me

I have not used cash in the last 6 months.
Not once.
In the last year, maybe 4 times.
What I want to see is more stores taking Apple Pay.

Not accepting cash would be the beginning of the end of personal privacy. I can just see a person at the checkout with a trolley full of groceries. The cashier tallys the order and says "swipe your card". The person says I don't have one but here's cash. "Sorry, we don't take cash." An argument erupts and the angry customer walks out empty handed while the frozen food in the trolley begins dripping onto the floor.
If you agree such a situation isn't good for the average person you might want to let some know. Who, I don't know but the V**a credit card company might be a good place to start.

Legally cash needs to be accepted.

If a company wants people to pay with credit they can do two things

Offer a discount if they pay with CC

Or

Have a additional charge if they pay cash (most places have a discount if you pay cash)

I usually ask if there us a discount if I pay cash. I don't care about the method if payment because in a case where I use a cc I pay it off when the bill comes.

I once purchased a 6 cents Lime at Walmart with American Express Card. The guy at the till was not amused as it caused more loss to them.
I try to use Cash most of the times unless it is Online shopping or stuff like Hotel / Flight booking. Once we go Cashless, next sep will be to cheat customers by charging them transaction fees and Banks will start implementing Negative Interest Rates, processing fees for every transactions, Monthly charges for Credit Cards. We are digging our own graves by turning Cashless. Cash is one thing saving both Businesses and Customers.

I use a combination of cash and credit for my purchases, but if a business chooses to refuse cash, I will no longer be their customer. Using cash is a way to ensure privacy, which, in certain situations, I value more than convenience.
