what does RFC mean?

i havent been to a con but my wife takes my oldest daughter to comicon annually in nyc, i think she is going this sunday actually. she never complained about odor. is that the right con or is there one specifically for gamers? clearly this isnt something i am involved with.

The gigantic media cons of recent years tend to attract a far more... normal crowd than strictly sf and gaming cons. Movie and TV geeks more than sf and gaming fans, although the latter are there as well.

Hygiene and social graces tend to be in short supply at most traditional cons. It goes right back to the beginning, the group of uber-fan/writers who started the subculture.
