It's garage sale, not garage sell.
But you're right, garage sales are a hassle and not worth the effort. It's better to sell online. Many people will come by the garage sale and lurk about to see if you'll just give your stuff away for free, so they can flip it on amazon or ebay.

If you advertise your garage sale, you will get people contacting you to ask if they can come pick up your stuff in the truck, because they're going to put it in their thrift store or sell it in flea markets.

You get very few real buyers at garage sales these days.
