Default Administratively Dissolve a C Corporation

I have ventured into many areas of business of the recent years, formed many companies, some worked out, while some havent.

Has anyone let the state administratively dissolved their entity? I ask because awhile ago several partners formed a C-Corp in New York, and another one in Deleware. The business never got off the ground but the entities were never dissolved.

I was told that some states administratively dissolved inactive entities (C-Corp, S-Corp, etc). I would rather let the state dissolved in active corporation then pay almost $800 to the secreatory of state in New York and Deleware to dissolved both corporations.

Any feedback is appreciated.
