Mike,

I work from home. I have my own marketing communications business. I've been doing it for years. It's not easy. You have to stay on top of all of your own bookkeeping. You have to pay your taxes on time and save all of your receipts. You have to understand the tax laws, and be disciplined enough to pay all of your taxes on time! I also pay for my own health insurance. I've set up my own Roth and SEP and HSA accounts. It's been a tough road, but I enjoy the freedom. It's taken me many years to built my client base and become good at what I do.
