ABC News: Big Three CEOs Flew Private Jets to Plead for Public Funds

If this doesn't get you angry, you are not paying attention.
How dare they continue to squander money, threaten jobs of working class and ask taxpayers for more money when they are obviously living in an ivory tower. If Im wrong, please enlighten me.

To many good people will loose everything including pensions and healthcare because of these CEO (and the ones before them) criminal behavior...
maybe dramatic....but it just angers me to see this kind of lack of accountability

From the article:

"Wagoner's private jet trip to Washington cost his ailing company an estimated $20,000 roundtrip. In comparison, seats on Northwest Airlines flight 2364 from Detroit to Washington were going online for $288 coach and $837 first class."

No wonder they fail if this is how they run their companies. I propose the workers get together and buy these companies with a loan from the government. These companies are worth less than the bailout money. This way the workers who build the cars with their own sweat and labor can control their own destiny. Right away they can save a lot money and selling those luxury jets and by firing those greedy, incompetent CEOs. I will bet you when the expensive, dead weight CEOs and upper management at the top are removed these companies will soar. It's my fantasy anyway.

Just when you think nothing can shock you anymore. Wait til you hear what this politician said about your tax money.

From the beginning, it has bothered me that these executives ask everyone else to make sacrifices but never look at their own salary and bonuses as areas to cut until their companies turn profitable again. I think giving them a loan or bailout or whatever is a waste, and that they made the mess, they can fix it or close up shop.

In the end, if the management style is not changed, they are doomed anyway.

That's how it works unfortunately. Lay-off starts with the weakest workers and works its way up.

Don’t forget, Rush has a private jet he flys around in.
As far as I know he doesn’t generate anywhere near the income as any car company.
Every NASCAR team and most drivers have their own private jet and they get some of their income from the big 3.
This is nothing more than a useless distraction.

I don't believe that Rush and NASCAR teams are seeking government welfare checks while flying in their private jets.

As I said it's a usless distraction used by the media to make the auto makers look bad.

But now they are talking about driving next time instead of the jets and I still say what is wrong with 1jet instead of 3 separate ones.

The automakers dont need the media to make themselves look bad...Their balance sheets and layoffs of workers with families while the CEOs make poor choices...does just fine.
Dont worry Nascar will survive....or ask for a bailout.

Did anybody write their congressmen telling them they were opposed to the Big 3 bailout? I did.
