What Would Happen If Government Banned Capitalism?
How would you live if the government banned capitalism? ----Would you move to the country to grow your own food? build your own house? fill your own water from a river? heat your own house from fire? live without internet or tv?
Talk about simplicity.. Would you even be able to survive and would you be happy?

Huh? Unlikely. That is how it makes money. You can't tax non-existent income or zero profits.
----Would you move to the country to grow your own food?
We're already in the country. The garden was fine this year, thank-you. The chickens are all at freezer camp now.
build your own house?
Had it built for us. Building a house takes too much time. Built a greenhouse though.
fill your own water from a river?
From a branch actually. Also have a couple of wells. Bet my branch water is better than your chlorinated florinated coal filtered water going through old pipes with lead joints. My water bill is cheaper too.
heat your own house from fire?
Uh, that would be called wood. The heat pump only came on twice today, other than those times, yeah, I heat with wood. I've done so before. No big deal and the exercise cutting trees is healthy.
live without internet or tv?
If we had to, we could. However, my business uses the internet, and tv is about the only entertainment we buy. I lived without the net for years, and grew up in a time when we got one tv station ok, and another one weakly. Think radio, books, library. No biggie.
Talk about simplicity.. Would you even be able to survive and would you be happy?
Sounds like you wouldn't or are afraid of this alternative. BTW, it is NOT simple. You have to know a few things to have a successful garden, know how to fell trees and cut them up without killing yourself, and know all sorts of other things like proper tick removal, how and when to shoot straight, things city folk have never considered.
Don't know how this all relates to banning capitalism though. I guess I just think this lifestyle more rewarding and sustainable in a recession or depression than shuffling scraps of paper that could change in value at a moment's notice.

Once the people go capitalist they never go back. The ability to earn money and spend it freely is more powerful then any political decisions made by a select few.
