check locally for micro-finance lenders, there are groups for economic Development and private landing that will lend $25 - $50k.

As mentioned... for a startup you need private $$.

Venture Capital comes after start-up phase, they like stuff that will return BIG $$ (because they have high failures to cover). They will want significant control or equity position.

Banks will cautiously come into the picture when you have some sustained cash flows, usually 3-5 yrs down the road.

I work for a major bank in the business lending department. We won't look at anything less than 2 yrs old. The only exception is medical doctors.
