Post News, Illinois bank is first to fail in 2009.
BERKELEY, Ill., Jan. 17 (UPI) -- The National Bank of Commerce of Berkeley, Ill., has become the first U.S. bank to fail in 2009, officials said.

The bank was closed Friday by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. was named its receiver, the Chicago Tribune reported.
