Just curious....
When I "view" "source" on some websites done by those who have been building since the 1990s theirs shows: w3.org
I have built on networksolutions, godaddy and angelfire. Where theirs shows up on the source info as w3.org on mine it shows networksolutions, godaddy and angelfire so I am assuming they use something from w3.org to build.
They claim to be experts but honestly mine (using templates from networksolutions or godaddy) look much more professional (all thanks to the templates!)

and it does not have a true blogging function, I apologize. Right now you can have RSS Feeds to a blog on your page. So like me, you might want to do a free blog on google blogspot, and link to it from your webpage.

Yikes ! All so confusing No wonder people go out and pay others to do it. I will research this further.
As far as visiting the Poconos, it's been some 20 years since I been there. Used to do Good & Plenty as well as sight see the Amish country. We used to stay at a place called The Redwood Lodge. I dont think it is there anymore. We lived about an hour and a half from there so it was a real easy weekend trip as well as a frequent vacation. Oh and lets not forget Lake Walenpaupack.

Ditto on homestead. I am not very website literate--quite stupid actually--, there is a lot of telephone support, our cost is $9.99 a month, and I learned a lot as I went through it. There are several generic templates you can use. In our area and for our profession and size, it is the best.

I am web developer. My last work You can see in my profile. As I see here, you are trying to create website from templates with default software and the result is... 0. AS you know, good website mus be fresh, functional and optimized for SEO reasons to have results for Your business or family. imho 200 or 500 usd is only the start and if You are not planning to spend more, maybe its better way to became blogger without Your own domain, hosting solutions and old fashioned website?
