This sounds like a scam to me.

Also, I would caution folks not to post their e-mail addy on this or other sites. You can send a DM to a poster with your e-mail address instead.

hello how are you? i am looking into starting a business like this as well. i have contacted a friend who is a real estate agent and she said that there is a huge market for this and that she will use me for that and estate homes as well. i was wondering if you could share anything with me, ads or anything that i may be able to use. I am in new jersey so no worries on being in your neck of the woods. have you started cleaning any houses? if so how is it going?

Default Confusion of what is needed for Foreclosure Cleanout biz

Hi,

I am a C33 licensed and trained decorative wall finisher (Italian Plasters and Faux Finish). I am like many others who needs to venture into another direction because my business is down and does not look like it will be back for at least a year.

I am researching the Foreclosure Cleanout biz since I figure I can offer cleanouts as well as painting. Having a hard time getting answers. Was told I will need a business license, however I would want to at least market an entire county or a number of cities. I was told today I would have to get a license for each city I wanted to work in...that does not seem right. What are others doing with regards to this. Also how much liability insurance and bonding is needed?

I see people saying there is little to no start-up cost but as I am making a list of what is needed with all the licensing and insurance, tools, supplies, dumpster, website domain, etc. it is a bit of money to initially invest.

Any input greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
CCM
