Education for a web biz

I'm trying to work from home, from my computer. Aren't we all, lol. What kind of education, (classes) would you suggest I take to get really familiar with my computer and programming. I want to do something more advanced than just a "start up" kind of site.

I want to start off on the right foot, and really make a go of it.
