NV Energy is trying to screw us....
How is it possible for NVE to raise our electric rates, again?
Here is an article from Santa Cruz Valley Sun from 4-29-09
UniSource Energy Services will cut its electric rates 21 percent for Santa Cruz and Mohave County customers on June 1, said Commissioner Gary Pierce of the Arizona Corporation Commision.
The reason.
In the struggling US economy, the cost of natural gas has dropped, said Joe Salkowski, a UES spokesman.........
....rates will go from 11.7 cents per kwh to 9.2 per kwh.
Is it time to move to BHC?

Well, I'm paying about .44 cents per KWH if that makes you feel any better.

Nevade Energy was never about giving us a fair rate. They are a for profit company and they intend to profit as much as possible at our expense. I really resent having to help them pay for new ways to get energy, when I would just like to pay for my own electrical usage. I am really cutting back on being cool this season because I cannot afford to be comfortable not having a steady income any more. Do they care? No.
I like Santa Cruz. I have a niece in college up there. I also love northern Calif. Someday when finances improve, you may see me there on my front porch in Sonoma drinking iced tea on my pink lounger and waving at people passing by.

Pink, I believe that's Santa Cruz Arizona, but also includes nearby Mohave County, which I thought was more relevant since it's just across the river.

Holy cow. How do they generate energy in HI?
We pay 13.2 cents/kwh from our co-op in NM that buys from TriState Energy (I think that's the name). Its at least 90% non-renewable sources, according to some binding contract they have. I am not sure how much our price would change if they added wind/solar to the mix. I thought ours was high because 25 min away PNM charges Albuquerque residents 9 cents/kwh.

i dunno guys - ***** all you want, but my overall cost of Gas+Electricity here is lower than what I paid in Michigan.
And for what its worth, I turned off my furnace pilot light and my gas bill dropped $10 a month - no other change in useage....

I thought it was Cali, since you mentioned it in your post. Also, didn't know there was a Santa Cruz, AZ. Learn something new every day.
