I have a little spiel that I currently am working in the financial sector and want to use my MBA to open doors to management positions and a bunch of other application pleasing verbiage.

My last GMAT practice score was 620 and that is coming from a non-business undergrad and also I'm horrible at complex math (I grew up in the calculator generation). I am taking a 4week course at the local university for $300 so I hope it is worth it for the extra 80 points. I also plan to take the test in DEC so I have time to fix my flaws.

UCLA and USC are great schools if you want to live in the LA area. They're good schools in general, but especially good for those who want to stay local. Hard to go wrong with either one of those.
By no means I'm trying to jack the thread, but I'm also considering UCLA and USC; however, I'd like to work in Austral-Asia region. US News ranks USC and UCLA on tier 1, but how are UCLA's and USC's name and recognition in SE Asia and Australia?

Just be sure that you have a specific plan laid out for the application committee. Tie your plan back to each school that you're applying to and have specific reasons why that school is the best fit for you. Competition to top-tier schools is fierce and you can't be vague in your application essays.

Best of luck.
