Post News, North Korea showing off progress with burgers.

SEOUL, South Korea - You want kimchi with that?

The first fast-food joint has opened in North Korea, serving up burgers, fries and beer in Pyongyang, and the locals are lovin' it so much that more are planned for the communist capital.

That's classic. I can see it now.... "I'll have a Dear Leader Burger w/cheese, an order of Proletariat Potatoes, and a People's Pie for dessert."

I was surprised they can raise cows for meat. I thought they had food problems, certainly it isn't efficient, I would think people eating meat while others are starving would be something they would blame 'capitalist' or 'western' countries for allowing, not something they would engage in.

I found the last paragraph funny: "State TV also showed footage Wednesday from South Korean TV programs that had been edited to highlight social and economic problems in the far richer South. The move was apparently aimed at quashing rumors among North Koreans that the rival country — a major economic success story and member of the Group of 20 nations — is better off."
