Default ABC Shark Tank Show

Anyone watch the Shark Tank on ABC?
ABC.com - Shark Tank - Shark Tank

At first I thought it was entertaining, now, it just makes me sick to my stomach to watch.

Its the classic example of greedy (sharks) preying on the less informed and desperate. Kinda reminds me of the banks and mortgage companies making loans to uninformed borrowers.

My only hope is that someone who is thinking about going on that show will read this post and please do your homework on valuations and financing before you sell your hard work out to these jerks for penny's on the dollar.

Also, you should make sure if you get royalties that the % is taken from sales or income and not profit. Profit can be manipulated in so many different ways, usually to the advantage of the person who is supposed to pay out the royalty.

I can't agree with your premise that the "sharks" are fleecing these people. I've seen a few episodes of this show and very, very few of the entrepreneurs seem to have the ability to run a successful business. Without help from experienced investors and business professionals, these people would be doomed to failure. The old adage "Would you rather have 20% of something or 100% of nothing?" certainly applies here.

True. There are still a few people that seem to get really screwed by the sharks deal though. They main shark (the bald guy in the middle) is such a jerk. I love it when the other sharks argue with him.

It just makes me wish more and more that the financial collapse would have been allowed instead of thrown on the backs of taxpayers and savers. If the debts would have proved worthless it would have freed up capital for the true innovators. I have watched the 'shark" show to confirm my suspicions about business. So far they have agreed with my view of many of the inventions. So many worthless ideas that people spent a great deal of time and money on.

I am hooked on this show now. Loved last night's episode & thought the sharks called each other out on a few things that really worked in the favor
of the newbie looking for $$. Even seeing some of the "not so nice" sides of these guys is a real education. Also like how they are re-visiting
some earlier newbies to see how they are doing. One lady has had a 1000% increase in revenue since she made a deal with them.

I love this show. I've watched all 7 episodes so far. I hope it gets a second season!

Yea that is true. Often people think of banks and these VC people as tyrants but they are business people. If I had a good product I would definitely side with one of those billionaires and let them make me some money. Some people put too much emotion into their business and they let a good deal go out the window. Their loss.

I also love Shark Tank because of the tips and ideas I got from the show. I am planning to put up my own small business... and it's important for me to hear what they think of new products. I am hoping that they have season 2... I haven't seen the canadian version of it but they say it's better, makes me want to see it too. I've read recaps from this site Shark Tank TV Show - Entrepreneurs Pitch Investors On ABC's TV Show and the ABC site they are accurate and detailed.
