GM To Sell Hummer To Chinese Company
So it won't be too long before you can "legally" buy a Chinese Hummer?!
In Chinatown those used to be illegal.

I wonder if they are going to try and put a 4 cylinder into the Hummer?

Your Chevy Equinox with a 3400 v6 engine is made in Shanghai...with a Japanese transmission.
So, in a sense, you already have a vehicle out there with a Chinese heart.

There are still restrictions on sales of companies holding sensitive technologies.
But in time, either the government will have to remove those restrictions to promote Chinese takeovers at fire sale prices, or watch the restrictions expire as China surpass the U.S. in science and technology R&D.

So the government says! But time after time they prove that the "sensitive technologies" are given away to china also. Remember the Props for our Subs? Or the F-15 highest security electronics was found in chinese hands from the stupidity of letting china build the F15 instead of US workers? Or the NASA embarressment this past summer? No the fact is when they build anything they get all tech too.

I think they want the production capabilities and technology to build hummers for their military. I'm suprised that the Feds are allowing this. I'm sure the governemnt sold the technology to GM (probably at a very reduced cost) but how much of our tax dollars were used to develop hummers? It is a well known fact that even the Hummer's replacement (the JLTV) is based on the Hummer and the MRAPS vehicles can not replace the Hummer due it's size and all the logistics problems they have.
How is the Hummer not "SENSATIVE TECHNOLOGY"? Maybe they just don't care anymore and that is just one more law/regulations that the government has decided to no longer enforce.

You're way off the mark. AM General, which builds the military HUMVEE, has nothing to do with the Hummer brand that's being sold to the Chinese.
