Default May be an inappropriate post.

Sorry if this is an inappropriate place to post this, and I'll not be offended if it gets deleted.

I've started making a new dog treat and wonder if anyone has any suggestions for marketing it. I've put "Free Sample" displays at vet's offices and pet groomers, and wonder if anyone has any creative ideas about marketing.

I am in no way looking to sell my product here and, like I said, won't get all in a twist if this post goes away. If there's an appropriate place for selling in this forum, I haven't found it and would appreciate being pointed there.

Thanks!

I think someplace here is a "classified" forum.

Thanks. I looked there, and it looks as though "business" ads are not accepted. That's how I interpreted it anyway.

Hi Katie. Thanks for your reply, but I just don't have the money to host a web site right now. I do have my treats on a web site that specializes in handmade goods, but it's not getting much traffic there. Maybe I ought to try eBay or something.

Package them up and then start knocking on the doors of every store that sells pet food or products. Especially small stores that may be on the lookout for something unique to add to their line. Also, rather than just put out samples in groomers and vets, you should really be looking at selling them to them wholesale. I'm pretty sure especially that groomers will be looking for something else to add to the bottom line and having another product to sell to their customer won't hurt.
The goal should be getting other people to sell your stuff.

Domains are $9.99 per year and if you host through netfirms it's free. You don't have to invest a fortune to have a website.

Thanks for the advice Anthony. Problem with having someone else sell for me is that my profit margin is so small right now, I simply can't afford to sell wholesale yet. Maybe someday in the future, after I've put more time and energy into making the whole thing more cost effective. I live in a small town too, and I know I'm going to have to start targeting a much wider market.

*sigh* I wish every day was about twice as long and I had twice as much energy.
