Just filed my LLC in NYS and i'm shopping for some small business friendly banks to open an account. Nothing fancy, just simple checking, a credit card.
I bank with HSBC and have Citi, Chase branches nearby.

Was looking at HSBC Free Business Checking
Checking, HSBC Business Banking

Any input?

I have had MUCH better success with small business checking accounts and other business oriented banks at banks that are MUCH smaller -- the folks that run the small banks are a LOT more like small business people than the folks that run even mid-sized banks. The ability to get some one in authority to actually put the extra help in tracking down a "lost" deposit or payment that could make the difference between being able to clear your books is worth a ton...

I heard the same stories from my friends but unfortunately, being in NYC, everything is big chain, no small business here.
Maybe I have to look harder for these small banks

Not BOA. They will hit you with Bank Fees each month that range from $19.95 up.

I had an HSBC account because they had a free checking product, but then I moved and their ATM was suddenly 15 miles away. If your needs are really basic, then a free account from HSBC or US Bank will be right up your alley.
