I once compared Denver and Calgary since they're kind of similar cities. Denver is dry (low humidity), but from what I recall, it's much warmer in Denver. It's 95 here today, and I don't think Calgary gets that hot. And in Winter, Denver's coldest days in January have an average high/low of 43/15. Someday I have to check out Calgary.

North central Montana around Great Falls, Cut Bank, and Shelby is basically just Alberta South.

Butte is also pretty similar, but the chinooks aren't as warm in Butte.

Calgary has two seasons, winter and construction. It's the only town where lady friends have kept a bikini and a balaclava in the car trunk. Beautiful summer days but the moment the sun goes over the Rocky Mountains, temperatures drop.

Before the railroad Montana cowboys always used to come up to Calgary to make cash beween calving and harvest season. And they were from Bozeman. i'd vote Montana.

Fargo ND is pretty similar. Fargo is slightly colder in the winter and slightly warmer in the summer, but all in all pretty close!

Fargo is actually more like Winnipeg's weather. Fargo is a lot more humid, so the tempts feel hotter or colder. While Calgary is dry. -10 feels completely different in Calgary then it would in Fargo.

Due to the proximity to the mountains, Calgary's weather is unique. Montana is probably the best US comparison, temperature wise. While Denver would experience similar temperature swings as it is also situated next to the mountains.

I just want to add that while Denver has similar weather patterns due to the mountains, the temps are much better in Denver!

Denver & Calgary get compared for a variety of reasons - mostly because of the mountains and architecture.

Didn't check Winnipeg vs Fargo, but Calgary and Fargo are actually closer than Calgary and Denver

This is a cool site. Someone that has time to play around could probably find the perfect match eventually. You just plug in the two cities (sometimes have to take the airport) you want to compare and it produces a chart.

Fargo weather forecast, climate chart: temperature, humidity (average/minimum/maximum), widget
