Meg operates like Goldman Sachs. If that's what you're looking for, then vote for the Megster.

Actually that is Meg's plan pretty much. Fire 40,000 state workers and replace them with-she hasn't said it, but she want's more H1B workers-offshore folks. That was my point in the first post-her plan is the same as it is any corporate leader. fire the workforce and shift it overseas. This is a whole another ballgame-about maintaining a standard of living for your "workforce/electorate", make sure the jobs stay in the state and so on. That and I assume most nurses were int he private sector, so why is the union angle played up so much. Then the argument went from there.

By the way, did you become the mod?

Also the schooling may only be 4 years (BSN) but it's an ongoing education that requires testing every so often to remain on top of the latest treatment, medications, & licensing requirements , it's not easy.
I don't know where you get the idea anyone is jealous..can you really claim they deserve more money or even what they make? Many careers require updating and continueing education. Beleive it or not, even travel agents have to continue their training...

What is Meg's plan pretty much? Meg's plan is to blame unions for all California's current problems? Also, your claim is ridiculous. The state could not replace state workers with H1B workers. Secondly, H1B workers are not offshore. H1B visas are work visas, you know the sort of thing foreign nationals need to work within the United States.

Or perhaps you think the plan is to open DMV, etc offices in India?

No its not, her plan is 3-part: 1.) cut spending, 2.) create jobs, 3.) fix education. Only 1.) is something a corporate leader would focus on, but when you have a huge state deficit and already high taxes its obviously something that needs to be focused on.

Anyhow, I'm sure you'll ignore what is being said and instead rant about outsourcing some more.

Below is a link of how gross government workers are grossly overpaid. See info on how one nurse make
$350K in one year with overtime, yep a measly $350 k. Is that still considered working class to some of you?

Plenty of folks against unions, and some rightly so, BUT with the collapse of the unions strength, we have lost an entire industry, How many of you were supported because your father was a Carpenter, Brick MAson, Drywaller, PAinter, Concrete finisher, plumber, etc etc...We have completely lost the construction trades and the goverment doesn't mind, Oh and the companys aren't charging less, they are just making more profit and paying 9 bucks an hour.. The rich get richer, while the middleclass slowly disappears....How many of you reading this have a pension?? Your Father most likley did.. Now your company is telling you how great they are because they match your 401k a paltry 2%.... That's Not a pension folks, Thats you saving for retirement, and guess what...You won't get to retire because you won't save enough....So go work retail until your 70 get your S.S. and die in 5 years....Meanwhile the top 2% of the population are getting richer every second....The collapse of the Unions along with NAFTA have killed the American Dream..........

I have to wonder why all those nurses aren't on the job taking care of the patients they say they care so much about.
