Well I have no idea what you want and it seems most of the posters here are at a lost as well. Clean and modern? Something like the Guggenheim? Urban and cultural, like what exactly? If you can't specify what you want in words, try pictures? Because those descriptions are subjective and can be relative.
Also I never resided in SD, just made tons of visits there so I'm not aware of EVERY part of SD.
