There's plenty of jobs in Bakersfield, especially in healthcare. But, the pay is considerably less than in larger cities. It all works out though since the cost of living is so much cheaper there.

Thanks for the info, now I just have to decide if I want to be that far out. It might be nice to not have people on top of me.

As for it being conservative. That won't bother me. I'm as liberal as they come and I won't let anyone change my views.

I I used to live up in Washington State and prefer the Weather here and Proximity to the Coast and Southern CA..I'm happier here and also consider Bakersfield a decent place to live and would recommend it to anyone that wants to live in a affordable part of California
