As an outsider who follows politics in general, will it pass?

You know what I'm talking about.

I say no. Gay marriage didn't, why would weed for the masses?

At this point it could go either way.

We'll have to see what happens.

The Yes on 19 people are running a better campaign than the No on 8 people did, although all the political big names are either opposed to 19 or not commenting on it.

Think about it though. Many people who voted against gay marriage are stoners/homophobics, plus who says the religious don't smoke pot. See what I mean? the people in favor of this are young people and men from what I have heard. There are many men and young people in CA that we can get this passed.

I doubt it. It should, but I doubt it. The whole country is just far too weird right now.

I say go for it but like everything else, if it passes and the liberals don't like the passing, will hold it up in courts for years.

I too say it can go either way. I mean let's face it. On one hand, grass has known medicinal benefits and is a naturally occurring plant. Unless you are talking about Big Pharma looking out for their own interests (i.e. higher price/lower quality drugs), this should be a no brainer.

On the flip side, you also have the "Cheech-And-Chong" and "Beavis And Buttheads" of the state (i.e. your stereotypical lazy 'stoner potheads') jumping up and down jonesing for it.

Who the hell in their right mind is going to let THEM have a free pass? Part of me wants to vote no solely and entirely to spite that particular nonproductive to society demographic, which I'm sure isn't helping the cause.

I agree with others that marijuana should be legalized but personally weed makes people lazy and less focused. For those who need pain relief it is a good substance. But marijuana has its down side also. I have family members who just want to get a buzz all the time but never seem to get active in important areas like employment!

I think it will probably pass even though Senator Feinstein is working hard to stop legalization as well as other Democrats and Republicans.

Tobacco and Alcohol are way worse for you then weed is. Yes, you can drive while drunk or high on weed, but with alcohol, it kills your liver, and you drink too much and your toast. Tobacco gives you cancer and yellow teeth. nuff said'
