well you just named half the cities in Cal. You need to be less vague on what you want.
An easy one is, do you want to live in NoCal or SoCal

If you've never been, why do you think you want to move there? Also, please don't call it "cali". Would advise you go for a visit to "California" to focus your search a bit and ensure it's really for you.

Have your wife find a job first then figure out where to move based on the commute.

Just a heads up: I don't know where you are coming from but if you have never been to CA, don't know anything about it, and don't know anyone here, there is a good chance you won't like it at all. You might complian about everything nonstop and will be looking for somewhere else to move within a years time.

My husband and I also want to move to Cali. We are from Florida and are really getting to hate it here. We both grew up in Fla. and have seen many changes. We also hate the heat and humidity. Last month we finally went out to see California. We saw San Francisco about eight years ago only for a day it was a layover for a flight to Vancouver. Anyway we loved north California Pacific Coast. I would love to move there possibly Mendicino or near there. We are planning another trip next year to explore further. We met with a realitor and saw some houses fairly priced. I don't think we'll be moving til we retire in about 5 years.

What's wrong with calling California Cali?

Same thing that is wrong with calling San Francisco "Frisco".

About five years ago, a Nevada Highway Patrolman pulled over a speeding car. When the fine young gentlemen said they had just been visiting Cali, the Officer knew he was dealing with morons. He checked. They had just attempted to rob a bank, and got away with nothing but trouble.

That still doesn't answer my question. What is wrong with Cali? Maybe the moran was the police officer.
