To be honest it hasn't been that hot here for the past few days, and the evenings were refeshingly cool with a breeze blowing.

Welcome Back Home

The one good thing I can think of about the Colorado River compared to Bakersfield is there's water in the river, unlike the Kern River where it should flow through Bakersfield. I like the wet years when there is water in the river when it flows through town.

Bakersfield is way hotter than reported on TV. I remember reading a book about 5 years ago that mentioned that back in the early 1900s Kern County was desperately trying to attract visitors, tourists, and people to move-in. Knowing that Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Diego, San Francisco, etc, was around, Bakersfield was trying to get people to move to the Southern San Joaquin by marketing themselves as substantially cooler than Las Vegas and the surrounding deserts, while also not being much hotter than Los Angeles and San Diego, and other major Cali cities. That's bull.

LOL...I don't know why he thinks they lie about the Weather in Bakersfield on TV,but you can even have a look at Weather.com and you'll notice the temps are accurate.

Right now it's almost 5pm and the temp is currently 94 degrees with a low tonight at 71 degrees.

I've also been keeping track of the Weather in Phoenix, and it's really strange that even though you guys get more Cloud Cover and a Monsoon Season that doesn't cool things off in your area.

Well last night was my first Monsoon here in Phoenix and got a little cooler but you have to remember it was like 108 right before the Monsoo came last night.
