I'll be in the Hawthorne Pool swimming at noon.
I'm in Chula Vista right by the water and at 10:20am today, it reached 100 right at the water. At the city's official station which isn't too much farther it was 106. 106 at 10:20am! Chula Vista never gets this hot.

Last I checked, El Cajon was 112!

My mom told me she was at the Golden Gate Bridge yesterday and it was 90 there. She went there to get away from the 100 she said it was in Oakland.

It is 113F downtown Los Angeles now; that has broken the record of the hottest day ever [the previous record was 112F in June 1990].

Yeah! Global warming! That would explain why it was 46 when I got up at 7:30 this morning, might have briefly hit 68 today and might actually climb to 74 tomorrow!

It looks like California is catching up with that Southern heat.

HaHa! Ya really don't wanna do that! Lemme see here about highs:

June - 1 day at 95 - 11 days with rain
July - 2 days at 96 - 17 days with rain
August - 3 days at 100 - 7 days with rain
Sept to date - 1 day at 92 - 11 days with rain

Now I'm not going to minimize the humidity this summer. It was bad. Unseasonably brutal even. But thankfully, most of the rain occurred in the evenings or over-night so that helped somewhat. Besides, with air conditioning in both the house and the car, not a real big issue. Just meant getting the yard work done early morning.

This is the price we pay for four distinct seasons. We're now looking at about 2.5 months of Fall and it's gorgeous. Winter lasts about 3 months and is fun unless we get ice storms then, spring for about 2.5 months.

I will say, however, if I was still living at the beach in SoCal I'd probably still consider that perfect; Santa Anas and all.
