No, I smoked weed in Texas as well. I moved here because I lost my job and I'm staying with a friend. He's an immigrant, not eligible for food stamps (but not Mexican), but I'm a US citizen, so just I will apply. I paid a lot of taxes when I was employed... gimme some of it back.
BTW if I can ever get a professional job again (stupid job market sucks big time, anywhere really, not just CA), I'll be paying taxes again, so don't worry about it too much OK?

I overheard a friend of a friend talking at a gathering a few months back. He basically said the same thing ... job market sucks and he cant get hired. He then went on to say he had job offers, but turned them down due to drug testing requirements. He jokingly said that he would not give up smoking weed for a job until (if) his unemployment runs out. Unfortunately, I don't think he was joking.
