Default Anyone know anything about Redding?

I know what the weather's like at least in the summer (whew!). What's the winter weather like? I visited once a few years ago and really liked it. I'm considering going back but would really like to know more.

Depending on where you are coming from the winters are cold or mild. My husband grew up there and we have visited many times over the years. About 18 years ago it snowed on Christmas morning, which was a total treat. And of course you can drive a couple of hours and get to lots of snow. The winters are cool, cloudy and rainy.

The valleys in California tend to have hot summers and cool/cold winters. With Redding being at the north end of the Valley, it gets colder than Sacramento or Fresno.

Hope that helps,
Micki

I'm seriously thinking of moving to Redding from washington state. I was wondering about a nice affordable place to live. What I mean is I'm trying to stay away from the ghetto areas. So what are some good places to look, and stay away from? Also, my main transportation will be a scooter. Are there many roads under 40mph?
