Talking Arnold Refuses to Endorse Whitman

The ultimate insult. The governor of the same party as the new candidate for governor will not even thrown his support to her. Whitman faced an angry crowd of women this morning in Long Beach. Meg not only debated Jerry Brown but also Arnold Schwarzenegger in an unusual discussion between the 3 individuals hosted by Matt Lauer of NBC's Today Show. Talk about a huge embarrassment; Lauer asked Arnold if he would endorse his fellow Republican but he declined.

By the way, Michele Obama and Barbara Boxer also spoke to the women.

I don't know if anyone is even bothering to poll AH-nold's popularity anymore, but it has got to be in the 20's somewhere. That is lower than Davis' was just before the '03 GOP coup (oops, I mean "recall").

With that in mind, I'm not surprised he didn't endorse Meg. He probably offered, and her staff said "Thanks, but no thanks".

So did Laura Bush. Say what you like about George, but I always thought Laura Bush made a fantastic First Lady.

Even worse, in that same event, Whitman point blank refused to stop running negative commercials for the rest of the campaign. Jerry Brown looking right at her, said that he would agree to stop running them if she agreed as well...and she said NO.

LOL...

Arnold is in my opinion a pretty moderate Republican, where Whitman is pretty much solid Republican, and she may have been too far right for Arnold. He could have been opposed to some of Whitman's campaign planks too. Or maybe he doesn't want to be associated in case Whitman wins and then proceeds to ruin the state or office.

I sure went "tsk tsk" when I heard that. Whitman came off like a chump. It was funny seeing Brown earnestly agreeing to quit the dirt, then Whitman almost saying quit slinging mud? That's our best stuff! Maybe she realized she had little positive to say that the voters want to hear.
