It's been a slow weekend and I am sick in bed; that's when I tend to post. I don't know how all y'all can make so much time to make so many posts. I like hearing informed thoughtful posts on both sides of the coin but sometimes it's best not to say anything, unless you are striving for balance and critical analysis rather than a quick "I got ya".

Ego's and arrogance are unavoidable on these threads; I think we should all take notice of the virtues of humility and restraint including me.

The nasty smell of Sulfur fills the air! The people there called me a "yankee". They said anyone not from Texas was a "yankee". The people I talked to were extremely judgemental as soon as they found out I was from California. I got asked if I go to church, If I like tatoos, if I believe in gay marriage. It was horrible. I will NEVER go to Texass again.
You have a good imagination.

I have lived in Texas since 1975 and have never seen a coal plant (what is a coal factory by the way? - you don't manufacture coal) spewing thick black smoke.

The only place I have smelled sulfur in my life was in Washington state and in Maine, near paper mills.

No one in Texas is aggressive enough to strangers to ask you about your political views unless you opened the conversation.

Tatoos are everywhere, and no one really cares.

I call BS on your entire post.

I call BS on you calling BS on my post. I don't know if the smell was sulfur but it was nasty. Also, it may not have been a coal plant but they were spewing out Black smoke,

In the Texas forum, you can find threads talking about California as well (in fact, many more threads than threads here talking about Texas).

Why does everything have to be a zero-sum game, especially in things that are vaguely defined like politics and the economy to begin with? How does that help anyone?
I meant to include certain liberals on the California board that continually stereotype Republicans and conservatives as backwards-thinking, Bible thumping gun owners. And they are participating in this very thread.

I describe myself as moderate when it comes to political issues. I dislike both extremists that continually hurl insults each other all year long. They are an example of what is wrong with America.
