No, its your fault. Socialism doesn't work. You want to give the world money, make sure you have the money to give. Not some utopia of peace, love, and understanding. Oh, and why you are at it, shave your armpits.

You hippies and liberals have run the greatest state in the union, into the ground. It will only get worse.
Back to Earth, Socialism works, and works well, every modern industrial nation is socialist to some degree, including all that are doing better than the US.

"hippies" did the poster just emerge from entrapment in a glacier for the past 40 years?

"Liberals" are responsible for everything good this nation ever did, including the creation of the nation, so, back to the library with ya.

I have a hard time figuring out "conservatives" logic. They dont want women to get abortions but they also dont want to pay for food stamps to feed the babies. They dont believe in anything "socialist" but wont return those social security checks they get each month. They dont believe in government healthcare but readily accept Medicare,Medicaid and VA benefits. Never mind that a healthy worker is a more productive worker. never mind that for every dollar we spend prenatally, we save ten dollars on healthcare for them after birth. If a person questions the logic of a war [Iraq] where thousands of our soldiers died for a blatant lie, then they call him unpatriotic. They can stay behind closed doors and pop all the valiums and Xanaxs they choose to but let a person smoke a doobie in his own home and he is a criminal. We elect a President who is actually trying to solve a few problems, as painful as the process may be, and all the conservatives can do is block any progress he attempts to attain. Hollering " we need another Ronald Reagan!" Nevermind that Reagan added 189% to the deficit and it took a "liberal" like Bill Clinton to clean the mess up. Conservatives dont want to do anything to help anybody. Not the poor. Not the hungry. And not the sick. Yet the vast majority of conservatives identify themselves as "Christians." Yet they act in ways that are completely opposite of the way Christ led his life. So I think I shall stop calling them conservatives and start calling them what they really are. Hypocrites!

Yes, exactly, Conservatives have been on the wrong side of history, as long as there has been history.
They are the way they are for two basic reasons.
Fear, they fear, that accounts for 80% of their thinking.
They follow leaders, they believe in hierarchy, and if someone they perceive as higher in the hierarchy than they, tell them ... anything, they believe it.
If that person higher in the Hierarchy tells them to think a certain way, they think it. It is why conservative talk radio is so successful, they want to follow a leader.

In a way, it isn't their fault, it is the way they they construct their mental map of the world, hierarchy and fear.

The fall of communism really set them adrift. 20 years ago all they had to fear was "communism", now there are so many things to fear, environmentalists, liberals, hippies, socialists, muslims, mexicans.. It is a huge list that goes on and on. Everything that cannot be neatly placed into their little boxes is to be feared, and the extension of fear is, as everyone knows; hate.

An excellent post and, sadly, a true one.

Did Jesus have a fat pension and yearly pay raises even during a recession?

Tough to figure out just how far out in left field this came rolling in from.

Do you understand that if someone has a pension, they had money deducted to pay for that pension all the years they worked? Strange but true.
Are you aware that the average pension for the retired California state employee is $20,000 per year, not sure where the "fat" fits.

Jesus in the Bible is portrayed as a hippy what with the sandals, long hair, living on welfare from good samaritans, teaching others to abandon material vanities and avoid usury, and preaching communism to the masses. I'm acutally surprised this fictional character was picked by the US "conservatives" as their figurehead. Gives me a chuckle every time I hear some mega church mass "Praise jebus" after they collect millions of $$$ in donations and invest it in mutual funds.

How much $$$ do you think your kids and grandkids will have to spend in the future for drinkable water and breathable air if we dont spend some $$$ now to fix the problems?

Not this time. Times change, and this old saying should be tossed. Three weeks ago, while most of the rest of the nation rejected Marxism, California embraced it.
