Default Housing & Community Development (HCD) Complaint

I sent a complaint last month to the HCD about my registration fees on my 45 yr old mobile home doubling.

They told me the fees increased to ease the budget deficit.

Thats BS cause the deficit is worse then it was a yr ago.

We CANT trust the legislatures & govenor (i dont).

Read the e-mail.

Due to California budget crisis, In May 2009, legislation was passed to increase the In Lieu of Tax up to 67 1/2%.* Then in October, legislation was passed to increase the renewal fee from $11 per unit to $23 per unit to help ease the budget deficit.
This was a mandatory increase from the Governor and Legislators.
Thank you,
Naomi Kurosaki

A comment (record no. 32287) submitted through the HCD website.

If i dont pay it the state puts a lien on my mh. The fines & penalties will double. That will add up big time over time. My mh fees arent due until late feb.2011.

That gives me 3 months to save up.

Ill just suck it up & pay it.

I honestly despise the state govt. City govt is a lil better but not much. They are all greedy even though our rent control fee is being reduced from 3.56 to 2.77 month starting 1/11 + we pay a thieving paramedic fee of $4.32 mo.

The yucaipa valley water district are the biggest crooks in town.

The city of yucaipa will be inspecting my mh park early next yr so i have to r&r a few things & fix my steps.

Its not going to be cheap but its got to be done.

My space rent has increased every single year & i have been here almost 12 yrs. Our increase is based on the CPI (consumer price index).

I did my part. I have a screwed retirement (savings/401k plus SS) and the government workers got the deluxe plan, paid for by my taxes. I hope the state goes broke and can't pay them.

I doubt it if the state will go broke. The legislature now will only need 50% + 1 to pass a tax or "fee" increase.

The voters recently & stupidly gave them that power.

BIG mistake !

I'm not worrying about the state going broke. I'm worrying about the taxpayers going broke from oppressive tax increases, particularly this taxpayer.

By the time the crash comes it will be too late to save anything by cutting services because there are just some services that cannot be cut. (Which would you rather do without, police protection or fire protection? Fire the teachers and just have your kids sit at home all day on the TV or Internet?) Tax increases are inevitable. That's probably why Brown said he won't raise taxes without voter approval. He knows that at some point the situation will become so dire that taxpayers will do anything to keep from sinking.

I received my mh registration renewel yesterday. Fees are due by 3/1/11 ($38.00). If i pay on or after 6/26 the penalty is $5.00. June 27th & later the penalty fee increases another $50.00. Total penalty fees june 27th & later is $55.00 ($93.00 total fes due).

Ill just pay the fees by june 26th & i dont mind paying a xtra $5.00. That will give me almost a xtra 4 months to pay. Times are VERY tough for me now & if i absolutely have to ill just let the state put a lien on my mh. They wont take it from me but they will be sure to get the money if i sell, move or die.

Ill most likely pay the $43.00 no later then june 26th 2011.
