Angry well look again

I have a house at Bombay Beach. It is not fancy but nice. We who are part ime sea dwellers.Love the quiet envioment there. It has 2 stores ,with two places to eat. A commuity that takes care of it's own. The beach photo's are of an old trailor park that was flooded in the 70's. Directly in front of this is the actual beach with sand and birds that live there. I have posted other pictures to assist the pubic with the beauty ,for all know. Come and visit see for your self,it is the land time forgot.

But look at this way--because of the location, the property values are bound to be affordable compared with the more populated areas in the state.

i think the best place to live in cali is in eldorado county. it is nice and quite up here. and its the best thing to be in the mountains. freedom from the city. very safe and fun.

I'm in the midst of searching for a new place to live, and I've narrowed it down to either CA or FL. My primary concerns are safety (as in small town safety, not "it's relatively safe for a large-city"), sunshine and warmth (got to get away from the nor'easters), and availability of houses (not apartments/condos/townhouses) for rent. I know I can get what I'm looking for in certain parts of Florida, and still live near or on the ocean.

Any ideas on which places I should focus on in CA, or should I just scratch the idea all together and go on ahead to Florida?

Default Considering moving to California

My family is considering moving to California, and was wondering if you guys could offer suggestions. I love the sunshine, and limited snow that it entail. I'm looking for affordable housing (renting to begin), good schools, not too fond of the country, and a safe neighborhood. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also trying to find the areas with the minimal amount of earthquakes. I've done a bit of research and see that there haven't been any major quakes in a while, so that puts my mind at ease.

You might keep this web site close by: Maps of Recent Earthquake Activity in California-Nevada.

In the aggregate of your requests, you could be asking for a lot in one package. Largely in CA, people live where they can afford, first and foremost. If where you can afford to own is unacceptable for this or that reason (usually because of characteristics you hate and just cannot live with -- to far from work might be one reason), you scale back, consider the things you can sacrifice and rent in an area more acceptable to you even if that area isn't perfect.

There is so much variety in CA that you really should try to zero in on geographical areas that seem to suit you and research specifics from there. Though CA truly does have it all, it's difficult for most people to "have it all" if you understand.
