We live in Sacramento and are moving next summer. Why.... its too hot and there is too much pollen.

Here is my perfect place:

1. Max temperature almost never gets above 80F
2. Sunny days at least 40% of the time.
3. Very low Pollen & good quality air(near large bodies of water)
4. Neighborhoods with good walkability (grocery store, coffee shop, bakery, restaurants, etc.
5. Affordable (2bd, 2bth) for less than $400K
6. Commercial Airline within 90 min drive.
7. Mixed ethnic and political demographics
8. No bad auto traffic
9. Good hospital within 30 min. (good enough for heart surgery or most cancer detection and treatment.
10. Good broadband availability

Sacramento has all of this except it fails on 1. and 3.

Do any places like this exist in CA?

Something tells me SLO won't meet his stringent pollen standards.

Maybe Sonoma/Northern Coastal Marin/"Wine Country" areas? Not sure about pollen though, but it certainly wouldn't be worse or even equal to the bad pollen in Sac! (I lived in Sac for a while and remember all too well!)

when our son was very young he was alergic to almost everything (he still is) and we lived in Marin County. One of the reasons we left was the alergins. Sac wasn't as bad for him, but it wasn't heaven either. Remember, it has a lot to do with what someone is alergic to, not just the city itself.
