Read it and weep. The amount reported by the Times here is low.
Curmudgeon's retirement is funded by the California pension system, he doesn't care what happens to California so long as the funds keep coming.

Anyhow, unless some miracle investments improve the pension fund, something will need to do be done with existing pensions. But its going to be up to the people that don't directly benefit from the system to force change. What is funny is that the people that want to push this under the rug are just guaranteeing the system fails, the only way existing pensions will be able to get paid out is if taxes are increased now to fund the system.

A nearly trillion dollar miracle ..... I don't think so. California can't raise taxes and fee's enough to make a dent in this issue. California has already over taxed the people.

What's interesting is the public employees were supporting the end of social security ... since they had this healthy pension. Now that they will lose their pensions they are going to be the ones demanding they get every penny of SS.

Ah, Monsieur Pièce de *****, how silly you are. Of course I care unless you are going to be so ignorant and wrong as to accuse me of not caring about the welfare of our five children and six grandchildren who still live in California.

The again, perhaps you are! But that would make you a cretin!

Nah, buy a singlewide, park it next to your doublewide, and get them out of California.

I'm sure you care about your grandchildren, etc, but I'd image you are trying to convince your kids of leaving California.

Regardless, its just funny how you react when people start talking about dealing with existing pensions.

My triple-wide, don't you mean? But then, as evidenced on these boards, numbers aren't your strong suit.

Your triple-wide? I have no idea what you're talking about.

And yes, after studying Mathematics for 10 years I have difficulty with numbers. Are you able to respond to people without all the fallacies? Just curious.

Perhaps next time you should indicate who you are responding to? With no reference, one assumes its the last post.
