Pretty Funny, Maybe you can tell me how the deficit should be cured. You tell me which programs should be reduced, and then someone else can tell us why that should not be reduced.
I will start,
1. shut down the California Aquaduct, drain the water behind Oroville dam, and mothball the dam. No reason for the state to support socialism.
2. Eliminate the California National Guard, when was the last time California went to war? Oh, there is an answer, 1846 when it fought against the invasion of the Americans.
3. Eliminate Caltrans, you want a road fixed, get a shovel, no reason for the state to support socialism
4. Eliminate all farm and industry subsidies and tax breaks. No reason for the state to support socialism.
5. Eliminate CalFire, you want a fire put out, get a shovel, no reason for the state to support socialism
6. Eliminate CHP, Laissez Faire on the highways.

I think that will more than cure the deficit without raising taxes.

I guess your local government cut taxes by cutting funding to education...MOD CUT
While I'm against tax increases in California, if California was a country, it'd have the 5th largest economy in the world.
