Yeah, the main reason for Sacramento being so "miserable" is that is has only one sports team and they're losers. Definitely makes me place a lot of credence in the criteria for their list.

Eh, all but Vallejo are in the center part with the pollution and the heat.

Although, it's relative. You toss someone from Sacramento into some podunk town in North Dakota for a winter, and I suspect they'd change their mind.

Well, they didn't want to say taxes, unemployment, lower home values, and foreclosures for every California city - - since Sacramento actually has a team unlike the other seven CA cities, they threw that in there.

Default I don't believe Forbes

I don't believe rankings by publications like USNews and World Report and Forbes. The only way to determine whether a city has certain qualities is to live there for yourself. I don't put any stock in this list.

While not a fan of those types of Forbes listings, I think that the overall sentiment they expressed about those areas seems pretty accurate.

California is certainly struggling, and all around me I see vacant homes, or homes currently being abandoned by folks who have been here for at least a few years. They aren't selling their homes, they are abandoning them.

That is a pretty good indication, all by itself.

So much for the "American Dream," eh?

My self and others absolutely love this list YEAHHHH Stockton is number 1. Makes picking up rentals/flips very easy. Hope this trend lasts a few more years I'll be able to retire by 60.

Just take a look at the homes sold every week in Stockton/Manteca in the Stockton Record. It is a bonanza of cheap real estate. I think the window will last about twelve more months before prices really take a bump.

Just waiting for the next flood of homes from the shadow market. I believe July/Aug will be the peek.

Hmmm to bad I didn't have 1.4million to pickup Tom Sullivan's short sale that was a steal.

Get in now before this project sends housing prices up again.
